Photo Description:- A deflated planet earth balloon

After his knee replacement surgery my dad developed a small niggling cough, I'd also noticed he was starting to lose weight, weight that he couldn't afford to lose and he was referred to hospital for an endoscopy

Soon after we received the devastating news that my dad has Esophageal Cancer, it came as a great shock and has been a lot to process alongside everything with my mums health

The good news is that it's been caught really early, but sadly due to dad's fragility and his own failing memory problems (which we're currently waiting for a diagnosis of) there's a very high chance he wouldn't survive such a massive operation to remove it

This weekend dad and I will be busy at the hospital so he can have both a PET Scan and a CT Scan to establish what the next steps will be for treatment

Life feels pretty rubbish at the moment, my dad who's the sweetest kindest person you could ever wish to meet is getting such a kicking off the universe at the moment and all I can do is standby and watch from the sidelines, it's heartbreaking!

  2. I am so sorry to hear this. It is just awful to feel helpless, but I know you *are* helping your dad just by being there with him. It really is the best you can do, and I am sure it means the world to him to have your love and support. Hoping and praying for the best for you and your family.
