Jackanory:- Part Five

Good golly gosh, sorry it's been so long since I last updated my Jackanory Story, so much has happened here that my fluffy paws haven't touched the ground, but today is not the day to tell you.

Today is all abouts the Jackanory Story.

*finds a comfortable position and starts to remember*

I had just started to leave he house with my mummy and Meegan, learning to enjoy life outside in the big wide world.

There was so much to learn, like coming when I was called, not pulling on the lead and how to be a polite young pup with excellent manners. Life was good and I couldn't have been happier.

One day when I was 6 months old, something very nasty happened, it terrified me so badly, that I forgot about my nice manners and how to be polite, in fact it ruined my life for several years.

Meegan was attacked by another dog, it was a full on viscous attack by a Springer Spaniel, because she was very old with only had three legs she fell over and was unable to defend herself, I was trapped under 2 fighting dogs. I was terrified and tried to get away, but as we were both on the lead and tangled up I wasn't able too!

My hoomum managed lift the Spaniel off us by it's collar, but it wouldn't let go of Meegan, I managed to get away, and mummy and daddy were trying to get this dog to let go of Meegan.

They managed to separate them, and poor Meegan was covered in loads of blood and had several nasty deep bites! By this time the owner of the Spaniel had arrived on the scene, and was shouting at mummy because of the way she had pulled the dog off Meegan.

Mummy said some very rude words to the dogs owner **which as a pup I'm forbidden to repeat** about how they should keep a dog that fights under control at all times. The owner also said lots of rude words too, and was shouting about how Meegan must have started it because she was a Rottweiler, she then stormed off with her dog.

Me and Meegan were both very shaken up, and had to go straight to the vets for Meegan to get checked out. Luckily her injuries weren't as severe as first thought, which was very lucky.

The next day Megan became very ill, it was so scary for me as a young pup, she couldn't stand up,  her eyes were rolling seemed to disappear inside her  head. The Vet came to our house to see her, she had suffered a massive stroke and sadly it was time to let her cross the Rainbow Bridge.

OMP I was sooo very upset, she was my bestest friend and my surrogate mummy, I was still only a baby myself. I cried and cried with my people, we all missed her so much, but the big question was:-
Did she have the stroke because she was old?
Or because of what happened the previous day?

Un-beknown to anypawdy at the time, I was badly scarred by what had happened the day before, and it would take several years to get back to being the adorable Badger Boo everypawdy knows today.

To be continued:-

  1. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. This one made me have a little cry. Poor, poor Meegan.

As you know, Murdoch is an SBT and people are very quick to point the finger at certain breeds, when really any dog is capable of being horrible with the right set of circumstances.

    Big hugs Badger Boo xx

    1. Oh No Miss Amy I didn't mean to make you cry *wraps paws round* (((hugs)))

Some of my bestest friends are staffies, I had to tell this sad story and all will become clear when I writes part 6...

  2. "( this made me shed a few tears also so very sad, but i know ur mummy n daddy n they are very special ppl who would never dream of letting any of their fur babies be so nasty towards any1 or any furbody, this is the reason i take it that ur piggy ( hope i remembered that correctly ) became ur best pal for walkies then "/
Anyhow ur are all strong minded and tough in ur household that u join together and battle thro all thats sent ur way and thats why i luv u all so much ")
Big hugs Badger Boo xx (Lou)

  3. Thanky you for your lovely kind words Miss Lou *wipes away tear with paw*

Yep,Piggy is my best pal and always comes on walks, except when he hid in the shed for a few months *paw swats naughty Piggy and rips his stuffing ou*

Piggy's story is a couple more Jackanory Stories away yet *puts paw to lips* Shhhh..

  4. The horror of it, poor Meegan, poor Badger Boo. The Boxers are very nervous about dogs who run up to them and bark in their faces. Some owners are not good dog parents x.

    1. It was horrific Lesley, Meegan was very elderly for a Rottie, nearly 11 years old with an underlying health condition plus she was in the process of tests, to see if herr bone cancer had come back again... We will never know if it was shock or old age that brought on the stroke.

Sadly a scaled down version of the incident had to be included to make sense of part six when it is published, as Jackanory is about Badger Boo's journey through life.

Sadly irresponsible dog owners do not care about the aftermath they cause.

    2. I do get mad when people fail to control their dogs. Murdoch does not like excessive bouncing / barking etc and while his first response is to run away, if the other owner fails to call their dog off, then the bouncing / barking just continues. Murdoch will eventually get his teeth out when he reaches his limit and I really hate being put in that position!

It also made me mad that this person pointed the finger at Meegan because of her breed, when from the sounds of she was blameless in this affair.

Anyway, I shall get off my high horse now and will await the next installment!

    3. I was very, very badly frightened to see and be involved in a fight at such a tender age, poor Meegan was the kindest, sweetest dog ever.

When mummy's boy cat had kittens in Meegans bed *long before I was a twinkle in my daddy's eye* she let the whole family live in her bed with her.

Must see if mummy can find those pictures.

When I gets cheesed off with my Rhodesian Ridgeback buddy Boomer barking and bouncing on me, I has been known to give him a piece of my mind too, cos he is a bit mental and manic sometimes, and cos he is a giant compared to me, I has to warn him to be gentle with me, I don't much like being rolled around the field by him.

  5. So sad, but I look forward to the next installment with much impatience x

    1. My fluffy paws are typing as fast as they can Miss Amy BOL

      BB xxx

  6. Oh, Badger Boo, that is such a said tale - poor Meegan. How frightening for you both. How cruel and irresponsible of the spaniel's owner to react the way she did!

  7. Sadly Miss Jill there are a lot of irresponsible dog owners who think it is ok not to teach their dogs to be social and well balanced individuals.

I was terrified of other dogs for a long time, but mummy helped me to get used to them.

  8. It does show that any dog can be nasty - I always think of sprinters as being good dogs but. Guess its the owner too.

    1. Defiantly the owners, I have many fantastic friendly Springer friends:

It's not always the so called Bad Breeds causing problems out there.

      BB x

  9. Oh Badger Boo that is so sad we were traumatised by hoomans we knows what it is like to be so fwightened it has took us years but nows we ise vewy happy again we luvs you Badger Boo xxx

    1. So pleased to hear you are happy again, it's so sad that bad things happen to us animals, thank pup for the kind hoomans that get us through to the other side

Thank you so much for stopping by and we hope you enjoyed our post, we love comments and love to make new friends through blogging

Having had such a long break from blogging after we sadly lost the star of this blog Badger Boo, we're now excited to be back so you can get to know our new stars Boris and Eko

For the longest time we toyed with the idea of leaving the format the same, but in the end we realised it was that which was holding us back from returning to blogging again, it was just too hard

Boris and Eko will continue to carry on with Badgers legacy by telling all their stories from a dogs point of view, but I will also be blogging about life in general, reviews and much more as we move forward on our new style blogging adventures, as I no longer write my original blog "Me Myself and I"

At the moment we're enjoying finding our way around all the Blog Hops again, discovering new friends as well as catching up with some old ones

It's really great to discover that blogging is still very much alive and thriving as it was before our break xxx
