Eko's Nose #WeekendSmile

I love the detail of Eko's face, from the blending of all the gold and white hairs to make up his face markings, the little blonde tufts he has on top of his ears to his unique button nose

Eko the Golden Cocker spaniel is standing on grass and looking directly up at the camera, the only thing in focus are his nose and eyes as his face fills the frame, what little else there is of him in frame is blurred and out of focus

Did you know that every dog's nose is as unique to them as finger prints are to us. Eko's nose also has the ability to change colour with the seasons
When Eko was born his nose was a bright pink

By the time Eko came home with us aged around 9 weeks old his nose looked more like a jet black button

Eko the Golden Cocker Spaniel at around 7 weeks old being held by his breeder to show off the pretty white markingson his face and chest, as well as his speckled toe beans. His red spots on his muzzle had yet to come through

Nowadays Ekos nose is more of a liver brown that gets lighter in the Summer and darker as the weather cools down in Autumn to almost black in the Winter

I'm sure there's some scientific name for these colour changes and why they happen, although I've never been able to find it

Eko's colour changing nose is just one of the many unique things that we love about him

What's unique about your best friend?
