Christmas Present to Myself

I only went and done it!

It was late Christmas Eve in Guildford at around 1630 and all the shops were closing down for the festive period
I'd been overly warm in my Christmas Jumper all day and I was hot and sweaty, the back of my neck was really uncomfortable because my hair was so damp with sweat

I turned to my partner and said "If only I could find a hairdresser where I could just walk into, I'd get my hair cut off right now, it's been driving me bonkers today"

As we rounded the corner fate stepped in, my partner spotted that there was a barbers shop still open and what looked like a member of staff outside

We asked what time they closed and surprisingly for Christmas Eve they were still open until 1800, I asked if they'd be able to cut my hair off short now, the guy said he'd have to ask and we said that's ok we have something to do and let us know when we come back this way again in 10 minutes

Too Cut or Not to Cut

 Decisions Decisions

I really can't decide whether to get my hair cut short again, it's soooo long now (half way down my back when it's wet) it gets really knotty every day and even with detangle spray it takes an age to brush out

Current length and excessive volume when my hair is dry
Once wet it reaches half way down my back

I can't tie it into a pony tail because of an old shoulder injury which means I can't lift my arm high enough which is so frustrating, on a pros and cons list the only reason to keep it long is so I don't have to endure having a haircut every 4 weeks because my hair grows so fast

Top knots - They're a part of Spaniels you either love or hate

Boris standing in the woods wearing his green fleece jumper and royal blue collar, his head is turned to the side and his top knot is sticking right up in a punk style Mohican

Personally I'm not a fan of them,

Bad Hair Day

Sorry it's been such a long while since I last posted, Boris is growing up fast and mummy has been busy training him.

He's a very intelligent young pup and can do several tricks now, as well as learning all about good manners and the usual things us pups have to learn.

The top knot on his bonce has started growing out of control, it's even more impressive than mine now.

Mummy is itching to strip it out, but has so far resisted the urge as it's kinda cute.

He's now a lot bigger than me but still a big baby. The other day a Pigeon flew up out of the bracken and scared the life out of him.
A Gun Dog running away and yelping in fear at a silly old Pigeon, but at least nobody else saw, it was soooooo embarrassing!

Hope you all had a pawsome Christmas, and Santa Paws bought you lots of toys and treats.
See you in the New Year.

A Trip Round Broadwater Lake

Daddy's car had to go to the Car Vet today, so whilst it was being operated on I took my hoomans  for a chilly stroll around Broadwater Lake

It looks like the most pawsome swimming place, but I had to stay on my lead the whole time **sob** Dogs can't swim there cos people have big poles and string to try and catch the fishes. Are they daft or what? **muffled giggles behind paws**

As I'm gazing wistfully into the distance I suddenly spy
DUCKS!!!

OMP I could hardly contain my excitement **whines excitedly at the memory** I've been trained not to chase them, but it has been ages since I last saw some and I forgot myself. It's a good job I was on the lead, I'm sure I would have humiliated myself and my hoomans by jumping in the water and swimming off after them.

There is a set route all around the lake which we followed. Which meant I was getting nearer and nearer to those pesky ducks, who just love to tease a poor pup stuck on a lead by swimming about all the time.

Going through the wooded area I really had to strain to see them though the undergrowth. How I wishes my legs were a bit longer at times like these, so I can see over the bushes!

When we finally reached the area where they all were, I then had to endure 10 minutes of re-training. You know the sort of thing, just sitting and looking at them without getting over excited. So boring but us pups must humour the hoomans sometimes.

Those 10 minutes were the toughest of my life, I felt quite pooped out when we left that area, so took some time out for a little rest on one of the many conveniently placed benches. Which of course mummy took full advantage of as a photo opportunity **resigned sigh**

Normally I don't mind to much but today I was having a really "Bad Hair Day" mummy says I look cute, but I'm not so sure..

Bad Hair Day

What is it about my hoomum?
She always does this to me when I needs a haircut **resigned sigh**

How many other pups have to endure this type of humiliation I wonder?

Or is it just me?
