Self Care is so Important

Boris says

We're back home after the most amazing holiday and back to walking on our favourite common once more
The holiday was to give mum some much needed respite from caring for her own mother since her stroke in April

Photo Description:- Boris sitting on grass on the common looking very content wearing his grey collar with a rose gold buckle. Behind him in the distance are the trees and a beautiful clear blue sky with a few white clouds

It's been a very stressful time since it happened and has been making mum

This getting old lark isn't much fun

Something is Afoot!

Hello everypawdy, you may have been wondering where I've been.

Well, I got sent away to stay with Blue the mad Labrador, whilst my people went on holiday without me!!!

Can you believe it **sobs uncontrollably** I love Blue, but to miss out on a trip in the House on Wheels is unacceptable. Apparently they needed a little break, so they could have lots of late mornings and long days out without having to worry about me all the time.
How rude is that, especially as the first thing they did when they picked me up was give me a bath, they said I was a bit pongy from rolling around in the woods with Blue.

A pup has to do what a pup has to do in the woods.

The best bit about a bath is getting dry afterwards, I just love rolling on my towel.

Since they got back, they've been acting most odd, lots of whispering and looking at pictures with loads of Oooing and Ahhing. I'm sure I've heard the word "Puppy" on more than one occasion, but can't be sure with my silly old deaf ears not working properly.

Not sure why they would be talking about a puppy though? Maybe I've misheard but they are being very secretive and strange, I'm positive something is afoot. I'll let you know when I sniff the bottom of it.

I've got a little bit of sad news, after much deliberation I've decided to stop hosting "Smile it's the Weekend" for a little while, a big thank you to everyone who has linked up in the past, I've met and made some pawtastic friends through our #WeekendSmile.
I'll still keep writing my blog so don't panic, I'm not going anywhere. At the moment mummy is finding it hard to keep posting at a set time each week.

Hope you've all had a pawsome week and as soon as I know what my naughty people are up too, you'll be the next to know.

The Return of Smile it's the Weekend

Hello everypawdy it sure is pawsome to be back again.
So much has happened I'm not sure where to begin, but firstly I'd like to say a big woofy Thank You to everypawdy who sent me Get Well Soon messages, it's so wonderful to find out how much love there is, out there in the big wide world.

Although I've not been keeping up with my blog lately I was still posting on my facebook page, here I am trying to sort out which of my many videos to post for you to see.

Smile it's the Weekend {21}

Last week I was jumping for joy but couldn't say why.

The reason I couldn't say was, we were going away in the House on Wheels. We've not been away in it for ages and ages, mummy says it's 18 months. I'm not sure what she means by that, it's either a long time or a short time in my head.
I wasn't allowed to say anything as mummy didn't want any "Bad People" to know that the house would be empty for a couple of days.

I was so impatient to get going and wanted to drive, but my silly paws on my silly short legs don't reach the pedals, but I did have the important job of warming up the seat ready for daddy.

Then disaster !!!
The battery was deader than a dead thing that's dead, they only went and put everything back in the car to go home again, I was not best pleased, I didn't want to hear about the hoomans problems, I just wanted to get going!!!!

I refused to get out of the House on Wheels, I wanted to go to the Seaside, I did my best to resist but was picked up rather rudely and lifted into the car.

Oh the humiliation of such treatment!!!

Home we went, then out they went to buy the new battery. Mummy was in shock, it cost £153.60 for a new one. Don't know why they was moaning about it, at least we could go now.

But No;

I was made to wait until the next day.
Eventually we got to the campsite but it was pouring with rain, all I could do was gaze out the window at the Seagulls, not a lot else was happening.

Eventually the sun came out and I was able to go out and inspect the pitch, it was very wet. Daddy had parked on the road so the wheels didn't sink and get stuck so I had a huge area to play in.

Whilst daddy set about giving the House on Wheels a really good wash, it was covered in loads of green mould from being left or ages, I took mummy for a walk.

I galloped off to the dog  field, but when I looked around mummy had gone!
OMP I'd lost mummy, why didn't she keep up with me, she knows she must always stay where I can see her now that I can't hear very well.

The thought of never seeing her again was so scary, I started to worry when suddenly I met a lady who said she knew who my mummy was and would help me to look for her, by this time mummy had been missing for about 20 minutes.

We started walking back to the campsite, when we saw mummy coming towards us, I was so pleased to see her, I ran straight up to her and gave her a good scolding for wandering off like that. From now on I think she'll have to stay on the lead in new places as we might not find her next time.

When we got back, daddy had a surprise for me, he'd found a massive Chewy in the garage area of the House on Wheels. Here I am sitting in the doorway so that any passing pups can see just how lucky I am.

After I'd had my Dinner I felt so pooped out with all the excitement, I just crashed out for the rest of the evening.

We had the most pawsome time away, it's just so great to be out and about again.

Hope you all have a pawsome weekend too.

Thanks Daddy

Sometimes when your as small as me, you need a stepping stone to see out of the window in the house on wheels.

It also doubles up as a comfy bed too.

Jackanory Part Nine

Gosh it has been a long time since I last updated my Jackanory story.

**thinks**

We had just been away on my very first Daft Adventure, and I had finally learnt that other dogs could be friendly **breathes sigh of relief**.

That Summer we went away many times in the House on Wheels, I became firm friends with a Rhodesian Ridgeback pup called

Balls, Swimming and Tomatoes

Had the most pawsome adventure in the "House on Wheels" and my hoomans, we went to my favorite beach and guess what?

There was NO rain!

How pawsome is that, after our last weekend away was plagued with rain.

As usual it was the "Hurry up and wait" scenario, we get there and have to wait ages for the hoomans to get set up **shrugs shoulders and whispers I don't know either** before the fun can begin.

Come on, I'm BORED!

Pin-Up Puppy

Yesterday mummy came home with a brand new Red Collar for me. I think it makes me look very smart and dapper **does a twirl in front of mirror** Hope the ladies can keep their paws to themselves when the see me in it BOL.

Gosh I'm Handsome
I think it shows my Help for Heroes tag off very nicely.

Some of you may be wondering why such an old pup as myself has a bright new collar?

Jackanory:- Part Seven

Hello my pawsome followers, sorry it's been so long since I last updated my Jackanory Story but I's had to think very hard abouts how to write this latest installment.

As you may remember in Part Five, something terrible happened to me and my surrogate mummy Meegan which terrified me so much I didn't want to go outside for walks.

**finds a comfy position and starts to remember**

Several days after Meegan crossed The Rainbow Bridge mummy felt up to taking me for a walk and re-starting my training again. It was very strange to be walking down the road just the two of us, I had no big black shadow to follow, and I felt very exposed and a bit

Rain Didn't Stop Play for Long

Just had a very wet weekend away with the hoomans, we were late getting away as the house on wheels had something called a puncture and the wheel was flat. I was going to help daddy fix it, but he seemed to have everything under control, with a noisy box that blew the tyre up and mended the puncture.

He can be pretty clever for a hooman my daddy, he always sorts any problems out to do with my transport whilst me and mummy supervise what he is up too.

Although this time, I decided I'd be better off inside and out of the rain, so I was ready for the off when things were finally sorted out.
